The Simple Joy School was born from a simple belief: learning should be a joyful experience, in a peaceful setting, with gentle guidance.

We provide play-based learning opportunities for Pre-School students in Dalton, GA. Our days are filled with outdoor exploration, creative arts, sensory discovery, music and movement, and foundational academic skills—all woven together through monthly themes keeping learning fresh and engaging.

Our small school house allows for independent play, group activities, and academic development at each child’s own pace.

Learning outside is a huge component of The Simple Joy School. We utilize natural materials for art and science and experience the seasons first-hand.

The natural world offers lessons no classroom can replicate. Daily outdoor exploration teaches children to observe, wonder, and find their place within the greater web of life, while building physical strength and emotional resilience.

We surround children with carefully chosen materials—like our Chickadees Wooden Toys and Lovevery subscriptions —which invite exploration and spark imagination. Beautiful spaces create beautiful thinking.

Play as Profound Learning
Through sensory experiences, creative arts, music and movement, and open-ended exploration, children develop critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and emotional intelligence naturally and joyfully.

Community Connection
Learning happens in relationship. Our schoolhouse welcomes volunteers to lead a project or activity, maintain the building, or donate a snack. Monthly events bring families together outside of the regular school day.
